No Christmas for the Druids

Druids (or 'In Druidism') do not celebrate Christmas as it does not side with their beliefs mainly because they do not believe in God. Though many of those who don't celebrate Christmas don't believe in him either.

During the iron age in Gaul, Ireland and Britain (And who knows where else) Druids are Celtics and were seen as magical beings who held the ability to cure and so on. They were kind of like Philosophers, Wiccans, Healers slammed into one person.

Druid(esse)s may not celebrate Christmas but they do celebrate the Winter and Summer solstices where the sun reaches it's highest or lowest point in the sky. And they do have a celebration on December 25th where the sun reverses it's annual cycle.

There are still solstice festivals today held around Stonehenge and there are many rituals that take place.

The druids actually died out around the time Christianity came into the picture but even so I believe they still exist somewhere alongside those stealthy unicorns.

Third World Country: Belarus

A third world country  is a country that has an undeveloped economy and depend on the bigger countries. Many third world countries were colonies at some point, generally the smaller ones, and they live in poverty.

The Republic of Belarus is landlocked by Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland and Latvia. It's strongest economic aspects are industrial or manufactural work. Belarus is also a part of the Soviet Union and is dependent on Russia.

Belarus, like it's fellow third worlders, is in poverty with almost fifty percent of the population living without food, water or shelter. Those who are more affected by the loss of money are single parents, families with only one person working and the less educated. Media is also not allowed within Belarus nor is freedom of speech existing.

45 Min Inquiry: …A rose by any other name…

'Tis by thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art myself, though not a Montague.
What's a Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot, nor arm,
nor face, nor any other part belonging to a man.
O, be some other name! What's in a name?
That which we call a rose by any other name
would smell just as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself.'

This is a quote from Romeo and Juliet (but more pointedly Juliet) by William Shakepeare. In this quote Juliet explains her apathy for the fact that Romeo's family is supposedly his enemy. That it was only that they were enemies by name and with or without them it didn't matter to her.

This play (written in 1597) is a story of love between two people who are torn apart by family conflict and tossed into…well…chaos! Unfortunately in the end (SPOILER ALERT) they both end up dead at the hands of themselves. Romeo walks in on a supposedly dead Juliet, who had actually drugged herself into sleep to avoid marriage, and plunges his sword into his chest in grief. Once waking up, Juliet is upset and poisons herself in sorrow.

As bitter sweet as it is this play is widely known and extremely famous. There have been many different versions of this play and in many different forms. (There's an anime version too 'Romeo x Juliet') So it's one of the many plays Shakespeare wrote that stays with us today.

45min Inquiry: Logging

When logging there are two different classifications of wood, hardwoods and softwoods. Hardwoods aren't necessarily softer but are mostly evergreens with broader leaves and have complex structures. Softwoods are also 80% of the world's timber production.

Most of the logging comes from outside the country and 14% of it is likely to be from within it. Usually we get it from the South Island in Hinewa forest. After it's been processed a majority of the logs are sent to Asia.

The logs are then taken to a sawmill which is a very old facility that cuts logs into timber. Sawmills are old fashioned but they're efficient and can easily cut through the huge logs.

Once manufactured the wood is usually made into floorboards, paper and fences but most of it ends up as planks used in houses or other buildings.

45 Minute Inquiry: Curling

Curling is an on ice winter sport where teams compete in intense matches.

To participate in curling you usually have teams of three where one person slides a 'rock', which is a puck-like granite stone, across the ice (or curling sheet) and two others use brooms in order to create a path.

The sweepers have to curve the path so the rock will follow it and hopefully land in the center of a bulls eye type of ring. Whichever team's stone is closest to the middle gets higher points and once all of the stons are used up the game is at it's end. Each team usually gets eight to ten stones.

Curling is related to Bowls, Boule and Shuffleboard in which they all use sliding or tossing across the ground in order to get the ball/puck to it's score point.

This looks like a recent match where it was us (New Zealand) vs China where our team lost but still seems to be improving.

TGC College Orientation

Next year I will be leaving Tauranga Intermediate School to go to Tauranga Girls College (TGC) and will hopefully have a great experience there.

Today I was alongside all the other year eight girls who planned to go to TGC for next year and we were introduced to one of the deputy principals, Mrs Ferguson, our deans, Mrs Keightly and Mrs Glazer-brown along with the top four (students) where one of which was the head girl, Adriana Bird.

In the first group of minutes we were told about the school's motto; Pergo et Perago which means I go on and finish. I take this to mean we keep on going and achieve in the end.

After the short briefing in the school hall we were taken on tours around the vast area and I grew a little nervous finding that I might get lost in the first week. My favourite two parts of the school was the awesome pool that looked like it was a part of an enclosure and the upper field that looked as if we were on a mountain.

In the end we were moved away and I couldn't help but feel excitement for college (still can't!) although it's a while away. I mainly can't wait for my classes that I picked so that I can fully enjoy it.

Dialogue post

Create a dialogue which illustrates the following scenarios.

1. A discussion with Miss C over behavior (Generally over the year)
Miss C: So Maia, how do you think your behavior has been this year?

Me: I think I've been pretty okay. I haven't really been too bad in my opinion.

Miss C: That sounds reasonable. I think you've done quite well in class with listening to others and helping out around the class. You're also good at adding to discussions.

Miss C: However I do think you need to improve on being more organised, especially for college next year. You need to learn how to finish things as well, like your homework.

Me: Alright, I'll do my best to improve on that.

Miss C: Great, you may go back to your seat now.

2. Mrs Mills talking to us about the final Y8 assembly.
Mrs Mills: You've all held out well this year, Rimu year eights.

Rimu (Year eights): Thanks.

Dialouging

1) Elderly couple on a walk.
Jane: Oh, the sun looks like it'll be coming out today, why don't we go on a walk?
Jack: I suppose that would be nice and maybe we can visit the grandkids.
Jane: Sounds lovely, I'll grab my hat and be out.
Jack: Come on, before the clouds hide the sun again!
Jane: I'm on my way.
Jack: Alright, let's go then.

2) Teenager asking for a raise in pocket money.
Teen: Hey, Mum. Can I have some more money?
Mum: What for?! I just gave you some last week!
Teen: But it wasn't much!
Mum: Ugh, go ask your father
Teen: Daaaaaad!
Dad: What?!
Teen: Mum won't give me any money!
Dad: If you mow the lawns I'll raise your pocket money by four dollars but that's it.
Teen: Uggghh…I'll as grandma!

3)Rock, Paper and scissors arguing over who's better.
Rock: Hey guys! Don't you think I'm the best?
Scissors: What's that supposed to mean?
Scissors: Are you implying that you're better than us?
Paper: If you are, it's not very nice.
Rock: I do think I'm better, but that's not the point d--
Scissors interrupts
Scissors: And how are you better than me?
Scissors: I'm sharp and I cut through things.
Rock: But I smash you easily so that you're only blunt.
Scissors: I still have a fluid motion and I'm easy to throw.
Rock I can smash, be thrown and used to hit.
Scissors: You're stupid and used only for physical damage.
Paper: Well I'm smooth, nice and…Rock are you crying?
Rock:…Shut up.
Paper: Here, I'll give you a hug.
Rock: Paper, you're the best!
Scissors: I concur.

Waimarino Poem

Practice/Example
Ah,
It's pitiful
How we live
In such a world
As if there is reason
Reason to ignore those who call
People are very selfish creatures
Who never care for
Those who are
Forever in
Pain
~
Waimarino
Cold
That's one
A word describing
The day we experienced
In joy we splashed away
Freezing water enveloping us
And if pulled
We wandered
Away

Attitude Animal

Using a website introduced by a speaker named Dave I was able to determine that my animal is an even mix of a Golden Retriever and an Otter with both having 34% (But it only showed the golden retriever ._.) I shall call it the Golden Otter :D

The traits that decide to pull golden retriever out include being a good listener, a peace maker being thoughtful, adaptable and being able to avoid arguments. I do agree with this although it does mean I'm a bit of a pushover I can still say no over certain things. Loyalty also comes through under this and it's something I like to call myself I suppose.

On the Otter side it would come from being peppy, friendly, fun loving and basically a happy person. I think this is basically just the side of me that's weird and funny..

12 Hour Relay - Can't get enough!

Friday November the first,
A day when we all disperse,
To play games all day,
Before going away
Finding things to quench our thirsts.

Warmth spread all through the field,
Causing the majority of us to yield.
It was fun through and through
With always something to do,
Using treetops and sunscreen as a shield.

~

I stood at the start of the track
The beginning I started out slack
The longer things went
The more energy I spent
I felt I was

The 12 Hour Relay Reckoning

Pained and panicked screams ripped across the sky as the wind threw a tantrum, screaming and throwing everything in sight.

All that was visible was a large dark shadow looming in the middle of the field as it seeped across the grassy area. It's eyes were piercing and in a glare while there was no other facial to be seen.

Adults, teachers as they were, could only stare in horror and despair as they watched their beloved students get ripped to shreds by the petrifying thing. There was only fear that appeared in their eyes, the feeling taken from one who could stare death dead in the eye. (Haha…puns x'D)

Unfortunately for myself I wasn't able to run fast enough even with the adrenaline rushing through my veins. Only one thing was comprehensible in my mind which was the knowledge that if I lost this race it would mean true death.

A cold feeling enveloped my leg and a shudder ran up my spine. I felt something trip up my train of thought causing me to feel only what I can explain as…blank. Inside of myself was a numb nothingness that transmitted only the worst of feelings and my silent screams weren't able to break the veil of pessimism.

Finally in acceptance I grit my teeth as my eyes became wet with the tears that were threatening to fall only to open them as I dangled above two large jaws. This was the first time I had experience fear of this degree. This was the first time my chance of survival was nought. I squeezed my eyes shut as I fell.

Drug Research - Presentation

This term we have had our Life Education sessions. One of the topics we're learning about happens to be drugs. Everyone has made a presentation about a particular drug to extend our knowledge. I made my presentation to a class member and they have given me feedback below.

Success Criteria:
• Confidence when delivered
• Genuine Knowledge
• Information given in their own words
• No reading of page or word walls
• Images match content
• Visually Appealing
• Not too long/short

What I recommend for TIS

Dear Mr Diver,

As a student in my eighth year of schooling I find it impertinent that you hear me out in this letter about the changes I suggest you make to the school.

Being a student of Rimu house I think we should allow toys within the school. I'm not saying to let kids bring in an armada of little gadgets I only think that we should allow toys used for games such as marbles and cards.

At my old primary school we had these because you basically just play around and trade them off. If you lose them, tough. I only mean to bring in actual toys and things and not gadgets like phones and so on.

I think this way because at my old school we witheld these rules and I loved to do card battles and trading and so on. Plus I doubt such a thing can get out of control.

Sincerely, Me.

12 Hour Relay (Can't get enough)

In a school of which has a day
Where the students compete and play
Circling they go,
To put on a good show
For the parents who are there for a stay.

There is a 12 hour relay
Some shout 'Let's Homestay'
Hours and hours under the sun
As we go as if chased, with a gun
While we're hit with the hot golden rays

-

On the run for an entire day
And chased by the government, what can I say?
The world around me cheers for my escape
At the end of my journey a white banner awaits
I'm panting, and panting the line is so close

Overtaken by others, rogues like me
They're all running for their lived as they reach the end.
Destruction is rampant around me and I've gotten so far.

I fall.

There's nothing more here, than the end.

Homework: Career

(Forgot to upload ^^;)

More (fake) Asks

Anon: I've got some older mates who are about a year above me with me being thirteen and they're around 14 to 15. They asked me to go to a party on Saturday and I believe that they'll all be taking alcohol. I'm telling my parents that I'm staying with a friend and I know it's bad so I'm feeling nervous. What do I do?

Me: Well Anon, it seems you've got a real problem. The first problem here is that you are all underaged so this stuff will screw up your brain a lot. The legal age is 18 and you're quite far off from that. Alcohol can be really bad for you and your friends considering you're all way too young. The effects will be worse on you than most others so I recommend taking a few bottles of ginger beer instead if you insist on going.

Lying to your parents isn't the best thing to do but I find it understandable but look at the facts: You're going to a party with people older than you where there is going to be a lot of alcohol and nobody knows where you are. Well at least not somebody who'll be sober enough to call if something happens to you.

Also please try to keep in mind that drinking at your age is against the law and you could go to jail for things like this.

If you can muster up enough courage than you can address them about your issue. If they're truly your friends they'll care enough about what you're so worried over and will help you out themselves.

In the end the choice to drink is always up to you but try to think of the future. Think of what will happen to you if you keep going down this track.

Life Education #1

Life Education is here to educate us on drugs to give us a more informed decision so that once we encounter things like that in life we can know how to deal with it. Delay the decision is what they say.

So when we entered the large white Life Education van two by two we sat in rows and listened to Michael. We learnt about REACH WITS which are ways to get out of doing drugs and other helpful acronyms. Most of it was a revision of what we've already been told and more emphasis on how it affects us.

You can use all of these to get away from tough situations where you're offered a drug.

R: (Give a) Reason
E: Excuse
A: Assertive
C:Change the subject
H: Humour

W: Walk away
I: Ignore
T: Toughen up/Tell someone
S: Say no

There was also a bit on peer pressure which is when people of your age grouping (or your average friends group) try to encourage you into doing something. Peer pressure is either good or bad depending on the situation e.g persuading one to take drugs or persuading one to do the dishes.

Scenario Where I Give Advice.

Anon: I found out my two friends smoke. I'm only 13. I don't know what to do. I am really confused. Please help.

Me: Well Anon, it would be best to make sure they know the consequences of taking such harmful substances. Tell them how much it rots their insides and reduces their life expectancy.

If they continue to smoke I would try to figure out if they have problems that they're trying to forget because a lot of people go to drugs or alcohol in their time of need.

Once again if that wasn't the problem it's probably just to be cool. Smoking isn't cool at all and leads to death and if people think that smoking is cool I suppose death is too, but I'm ranting here.

If you REALLY want to stop them I would suggest telling an adult or someone who can sort them out but honestly it's their choices so if anything happens it is not your fault.

Also if they offer you some do NOT take it. Most drugs ruin lives and I don't want to see a lovely asker get ruined. Whatever you do please don't fall victim to any peer pressure and make sure that they know you have no intention in smoking.

It was nice talking to you Anon and I hope you can solve this problem :D

Black Friday

Today is Friday the thirteenth of September. It's Black Friday today which is a day where bad luck is released everywhere, (Not when all the dark skinned guys come out.) so don't break a mirror, let a black cat walk by you or walk under a ladder. That could be very bad for your luck so try to keep a horseshoe or rabbit foot with you.

Today of all days is known to be the unluckiest day of the year and many people suffer friggatriskaidekaphobia because of it. Friggatriskaidekaphobia is where many people have a phobia of even moving anywhere because of the bad luck this day brings.

It's clear as mud where this superstitious date has been derived from but thirteen has been known as an unlucky number since around the early seventeen hundreds.

It has been said that if thirteen people dine together one will die within a year. This has come from two places, one was during Last Supper where Jesus dined with the twelve apostles only a while before his death. The second was in Norse mythology where the god Odin is dining with eleven of his friends only to have the party crashed by Loki, the god of evil. Also, according to the christians, Friday is unlucky due to the crucifixion of Jesus.

I believe due to twelve being the "Complete" number as others say, thirteen throws off the balance. There are twelves in quite a few things such as the zodiac, the gods of Olympus, the tribes of Israel, the Apostles of Jesus, the hours of a clock and twelve whom are descended from Muhammad Imams.

Some superstitions associated with this day are as follows. If you cut your hair on this day someone in your family will die, if a baby is born on this day it will be unlucky for life and if a funeral procession passes by you will be next to die.

So be careful this Friday 13th…

A Day with Mrs Gilmore

Yesterday instead of Miss Campbell we had Mrs Gilmore. She was a fine teacher and was just like any other reliever, not knowing what our usual was.

Another thing that happened was Norm Hewitt coming to our school and talking to us about the SPCA, Family violence and about one other thing. (I forgot what it was, sorry.)

Everyone gathered in the hall to listen to Norm to see what he had to say about animals. We learnt how much empathy and love they gave us, how badly they were treated and how similar we truly are. Something I believe is that nobody truly understands the fact that we are of the same species. Humans are animals so using the word animal for every animal besides ourselves is kind of off.

Norm was very entertaining as he told us about his past and he's good at getting his point across. He's a great host and is a All Black by day and a dancer by night. :3

News Post

What would you do if you, at the age of ten, found an egyptian mummy in your grandparent's attic?

Well a german boy did exactly that and the current belief is that his grandfather, dead for twelve years, brought it over from Egypt as a souvenir of sorts.

A CT scan was done and revealed a preserved human skull with an arrow sticking out of it's socket!

Police seem to have no idea whether it's real, from Egypt or if why it happens to be in an attic.

Personally I think that would be so…awesome. I want a dead mummy in my attic! :D

Movie Review of: Naruto, Road to Ninja.

Naruto Shippuden Road to Ninja is the sixth Naruto Shippuden movie to come out. The seiyuus include Junko Takuechi, Chie Nakamura, Toshiyuki Morikawa and Emi Shinohara.  There aren't really english voice actors due to the movie not being dubbed over yet but I believe Maile Flanagan will be one as she voices Naruto in the original series.

Road to Ninja is a movie from the Naruto anime series in which a boy named Naruto who wishes to become the leader of his village is the protagonist. In the beginning of the movie the usual characters are seen to be planning an attack on a recurring group of enemies who later throw our main character Naruto and his teammate Sakura into an alternate dimension where they want to escape…or do they? That's one of the twists.

I love the humour in the beginning due to appearing in a new world with everyone having their personalities totally inverted. It was hilarious having all the usually composed characters being excited, crazy and energised. My favourite character in this dimension would have to be Hinata, a girl who is usually a shy, soft princess is now…well rude loud and terrifying. However as this movie goes on it does foretell some dark events that lead to some pretty epic battles. I can't tell if there were any bad parts because I was so taken by the movie and the way it flows. Road to Ninja is a good film but I do think that the title sounds a bit irrelevant. There could be a reason behind that but for now I don't know.

Overall I feel that it's a good film that I would recommend to people who aren't bothered by blood, violence or sadness. I believe this film would be awesome for people already following the series because then you're able to understand it more clearly and suggest it for mainly boys though I think a lot of the fans are female from what I know.

My Speech

For Homework I did a speech about the group of online activists/hacktivists known as Anonymous

Anonymous. Defined by the dictionary as not identified by name or of unknown name. Also a righteous group of hacktivists that aren’t afraid to attack even the most powerful of foes for the sake of morality.

First things first! What exactly does this group do? Well let me explain it! Anonymous is an open group with strictly no secrets. Some watch over our cat videos and make sure they stay there. Most make sure all unjust actions do not go unpunished. Watch out John Key because that spying move you made was not unheard of.You can think of Anon, as many like to call them, as the protectors of the internet, especially the internet jokes, memes and the like. They’ll make stands for citizens who’s rights are being played with by the government as long as the problem is tech related.

For example Anon waged a small attack on a man named Hal Turner who had his own radio station. Right now there seems to be no reason to attack such a man, am I right? Yes, yes I am. Until you realise that this guy was a supremacist, racist…jerk. Anonymous noticed this man when he started picking on of their own and decided to do something about it. Many within the group came up with ideas such as spamming his radio calls, sending him countless pizzas, random blocks of materials and even going to sign him up for Craigslist. These little stunts managed to take Hal off the radio by destroying his ability to pay for it.

These internet guardians, as I have called them, started out as people just like you and me. People just sitting at home on their computers on a website called 4chan. 4chan was the birthplace of Anon where anyone could upload photos as an anonymous user or if they wanted, a named one. Anon came to be on the part of the site known as /b/. This was where all the completely random and mind scarring things were uploaded. Somehow these individuals got together to defend the internet!

I believe that there were two major events that Anon was involved with. Let’s start with the Indian governmental struggle. Imagine a world with no internet…horrifying I know…this is practically what happened to India as they took away the internet from the entire country. Can you guess what Anon did? Amazingly enough they showed them how to turn it back on. Everyone put together a bunch of files with instructions and things to defend them from pepper-spray and other weapons that may be used against them in a care package. Awesome, right? Indian citizens got their leader to back out of government and there were parties in the streets. Aw yeah, go India!

“And now…In the left corner we have the Anons and in the right we have Scientology! That’s right everybody it’s time for Anon vs Scientology!” Yes there was an epic smack down between the two. It started out with an innocent video with Tom Cruise talking about some things on Scientology that became widely mocked across the internet. Scientology’s response was to go around legally threatening people to take it down so before you knew it half of these vids were taken down. Anon did not respond kindly to having their little joke taken away I can tell you that but the thing was, that just as fast as these videos were being uploaded they were being smacked straight back down. That was when Anon went into battle mode against an enemy that was almost perfect for them with a whole lot of DDossing, trolling and finally a confrontation.

I really should tell you about DDossing. DDossing is also known as denial of service where you basically flood a site until nobody else can enter. Like hiring tons of people to stand in line for the hotdog stand and in the end no real customers can enter.

The confrontation thing was HUGE. This was a widely participated project in which many Anon members stood outside Scientology buildings with masks to conceal their identities in protest. It was a mark in Anonymous history.

Oh yeah, these are some things that I can NOT leave out. The main symbol for Anonymous is the Guy Fawkes mask from the movie, V for Vendetta. It was decided because it was an inside joke that these 4chan using anons all
knew about. Their saying is “We never forgive. We never forget. We are Anonymous. Expect us.” Epic, right? But I’m not trying to over glorify it.

This organisation gives not only our rights but also an example. No matter how high up you are wrong actions will be punished. The government needs to fear the citizens not vice versa because one slip up from them and ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US.

Limerick~!

Distinguished by nothing but name,
There are stars that ride on their fame.
Though they are quite admired,
I am rather tired,
Of seeing that it's nought but a game.

I see them everywhere,
And I don't at all think it's fair.
To horde all your money,
It's not at all funny,
When there are people who live with bad health care in despair.

My Experience of Spring (Poem)

The sunlight glowing somehow brighter on the horizon,
With all the birds shrieking I know it's spring.
Supposedly the most beautiful day of the year.
I find it cold, tiring and tedious as my need to stay in bed is stronger.

The plums trees are blossoming?
I don't really care.
Sure it's pretty but I'd rather fruit.
It's only really the beginning of spring,
So I'm not enjoying it just yet.

Warmth only makes the morning colder,
Especially when I hate getting up.
Spring means more fauna jobs around the house
Mum will enjoy that one.

I don't hate spring,
Now don't get me wrong!
I'm sure once I'm used to the change,
Spring will feel great and joyous.
I will love the singing of the birds,
Until once it changes all over again.

(Lol, it's more like a story cut into paragraphs. I'm not good with poems on the go without a certain type.)

Character Description of: Paris L

This person is a close friend of mine, she has dirty blond hair that reaches her shoulder blades. With a generally positive outlook on life she has a massive amount of energy and is very active about it. When excited her cerulean blue eyes glow and excitement is something that comes naturally to her. Although she has a small stature the amount of effort she exerts is huge and is very compassionate towards her likes and dislikes. Ironically enough she calls me a n00b at every chance she gets but I bet I could beat her in any video game. She comes off as hostile and confident even overly so but she is generous and tries hard in everything she does. Most of the time she is very blatant with her words and is true to herself.   Sometimes she's a bit much but I won't lie in saying I enjoy her being my friend.

Hoodlum Hunt

Okay, so apparently while I was off doing nothing there was some sort of intermediate cop chase going on around the school.

The way it went down was that there were some boys from our house that were looking for a dropped item. They had gone down into the more wild area that was out of bounds from the school to retrieve it where they found three students wagging school.

Delayed Gratification.

Self Defense

EYES! EYES!
THROAT! THROAT!
GUTS! GUTS!
NUTS! NUTS!

Anyone listening to this chant from outside the walls of our little training room would've backed down in fear of being attacked by Amazons. In actuality it was just us Rimu girls going over the weak spots of a person for our self defense course.

Girls' self defense is a course run by, as far as I know, a woman named Ellie. Or at least that was what we called her. This was a place where we learned how to fend off attackers or deal with freaky situations. Most of these scenarios involved male creeps who were off to inappropriately approach a young girl and most ended with telling another person about it which is extremely important.

It turns out there are many ways to make sure you don't get kidnapped or attacked but keep in mind it's not for mindlessly beating up others but for defense. By defense I don't mean that if your mother happens to be asking you to do something you scream back in anger.

Something to do is to yell instead of scream and really loudly too to throw the attacker off. It's also a good idea to collect DNA for identification purposes and to fall them. No matter how gory it is, if it keeps you safe and gets him away then it works.

The main things we learnt were about punches and kicks like a hammer punch where you drive the bottom of your fist (Thumbs on the outside and against your fingers) into the attacker's nose.

All and all it was a great experience and I hope people know not to mess with us now!

Still though…I feel like I just spoke about fight club ;_; WHAT HAVE I DONE?!

At home I did nothing but sleep,
When I slept I did it quite deep.

You could say it's a crime,
When I never wake up for the beep.

Inference

Statement: Felila was exhausted.
Inference: Felila's breath had become laboured as she fell almost voluntarily towards her bed with a slight bounce.
Statement: Russell was hungry.
Inference: A low growl ripped through Russell's stomach as he was standing in the middle of McDonalds penniless.
Statement: Troy was lying.
Inference: His true intentions were masked behind such simple words as Troy spoke to his friend.
Parody: Troy received a slap to the face. "WHERE ARE YOU HIDING THE TWINKIES?!" Once again he growled out. "I'll never tell." "LIAR."

Inference

Statement: Caine was addicted to computer gaming.
Inference: Caine's eyes focused on the buzzing blue light of the screen, his hand pressed the keys and clicked the mouse in a rhythm. His parents called for him but to their annoyance he replied with, "Just let me save!"
Parody: Caine lives in his mothers basement all day eating cheese.
Statement: Maia felt sick.
Inference: A wicked cough shook Maia's body as she began to convulse to keep her germs at bay.
Parody: No. Maia did not feel sick. You have no idea how Maia felt. She felt like a train had come and ran over her head before deciding to try reversing again before a giant cactus fell from the sky and got lodged in her throat.
Statement: Josh was worried about being late for school.
Inference: School was starting in a matter of minutes and Josh ran as quickly as he could to keep up with the ticking clock so that he could make it to the salvation of the classroom.
Parody: The Indiana Jones theme began playing as Josh ran towards the class of doom. He managed to get in before an explosion killed everyone.

Inference

In class we have been learning to make inferences instead of normal sentences.

Statement: Matthew was lonely.
Inference: None of the others would speak to Matthew, they didn't even go near him. All he did was sit in the corner and stare longingly at the others who played together. Envy flared up inside him as he saw friends sharing gestures and he looked down knowing that he wouldn't be able to experience these joys.
Parody: Matthew was an alone lonely loner who was alone in the loneliest area of lonely to the point of a lonely lone return. All alone that is,
Statement: Kyle was excited about maths.
Inference: As soon as Kyle noticed that maths was the next subject his eyes lit up and he couldn't help the smile that broke across his face. He grinned as he pulled out his gear, ready to take on this subject with enthusiasm.
Parody: "Oh maths." Kyle whispered, "How I love you so." He then shared a lovely kiss with his math book.
Statement: Connor was terrified of answering the phone.
Inference: Paranoia ran rapid in Connor's mind as the task of answering the phone became less simple and more daunting. His hand hesitated over the white phone as mixed feelings welled up inside wondering whether to pick up the phone or not.
Parody: The phone. It was terrifying. THE PHONE. DON'T TOUCH THE PHONE. But unfortunately nobody knew the phone like Connor did. This phone murdered people and it was so evil. "BRIIING." "NO DON'T TOUCH IT!" He wailed, flopping around.

The Reliever.

From Monday to Tuesday we've had a reliever/substitute due to Miss C injuring herself therefore we got Mrs V. Mrs V knew what she was doing and was friendly. I enjoyed her being here because she was alright with letting us play music and talk but only if we had permission and there were a few rules for the music part. My favourite part of her visit was how she started with all the more unlikable things first as I do. Having the same mindset or being able to relate to a teacher is a good thing because that way you can have a more enjoyable time at school.

Mrs V gave us worksheets that were either fun or boring for those who acted accordingly. I got to colour in a shark and I do enjoy colouring. To be honest we really didn't do too much apart from some fun activities. It was pretty lax but we still got work done and it was fun too.

Bullying within Schools

Once I started school I was kind of a bully myself and I really regret that. It was because there was a girl in class that nobody liked and I was a little peer pressured into not wanting anything to do with her. The others also misrepresented her and told me things that were wrong and though I had many chances to undo my wrongs but I couldn't take them so I'm very sorry to that girl from Hora Hora Primary all those years back.

As I moved areas I began to understand how much it hurt because moving into a new school where I was pretty much alone was hell. I was afraid of all of my peers save the odd one who would talk to me because only one or two accepted me at first. I was even afraid to cry so I just didn't and they still called me weird for doing so. I had smashed my head into a playground obstacle but I didn't cry in fear of being bullied again.I couldn't believe how harsh they were towards me and they told me things that really hurt and pushed me into a corner of being shy. They were such narcissists and I hated it but I didn't speak up and never played with anybody because nobody would. My mum told me that they had reasons, that they were probably influenced by their parents and the rest but I thought that if I could handle my parents they should be able to do the same.

All of my friends were usually ones that were insulted alongside me or younger than me because I had gotten friends on the playground. On the playground I had a few skills where some kids would watch me and they became my friends and basically my family. Though they were younger they were definitely a lot nicer and kinder towards me. I also began to feel bad for my younger brother who got into fights simply because he wanted to fight back against some of the meaner kids. He hated school so much and it was really upsetting.

In the end I never really 'defeated' the bullies but moving to TIS boosted my confidence when I met my first class because they were all very kind. I liked all of them even if a few got on my nerves, they weren't major fem-dogs like all the others. All of them disgust me to the point of no return at how they decide that dating, bullying and wearing makeup is okay when you happen to be so young.

Even though bullies are horrible it's usually the parents that are the root of the problem. Neglecting, favouring or fighting around a child is bound to hurt them no matter what. Being drunk or leaving them behind when they need you is pure bull…ship. Don't get me wrong, there are some out there who are just bad to the bone or enjoy the pain of others. You can never really prevent bullying from happening because it always does but if you can try to understand why the act out then maybe it could help. Dealing with them is easy if you just ignore them and act as kindly to them as possible like if one were to swear at you just politely lecture them.

More Argumentative Writing.

Statement: Anonymous is out of hand.
Background: Anonymous is a hacktivist group that are sort of like moderators for all of the internet and even political affairs. Anonymous is a large, large, worldwide group that can include anyone yet as the name implies their faces are most always hidden. Their motto/mark of words is; We are Anonymous. We are legion. We never forgive. We never forget. Expect us. Their symbol is the Guy Fawkes mask.

For
Anonymous, the hacktivist group, are nothing more than terrorists that cause havoc. They have blatantly stolen information from areas and taken sites down and their behaviour is reckless. I believe that they are trying to destroy the government and all associated with them. The beliefs of this group are against the way of society and they act outside of the law which must be followed accordingly. Going against public places like the Scientology area and bringing the world into such a thing is foolish and they all deserve to be punished.

Against
I truly beg to differ as Anonymous has done much good, albeit chaotic, to the world. They have helped Egypt rebel against the tyrannical government to bring them down and to freedom of speech. The unruly behaviour was mostly committed by a group called LulzSec who weren't acting alongside Anon but as another group entirely and the harm that they caused was none of Anon's concern. Destroying the government may be something that needs to be done if they take it too far because the main thing Anon is trying to get across is that we all have the freedom of speech and the government needs to fear the people instead of vice versa. Taking out Scientology was amusing yet needed because they needed to know that you do not try to take something away from the internet…you do not steal a joke from Anon.

The Second Alice: ♦

(These stories, there are going to be four, are based off of the song Alice Human Sacrifice. It's a Vocaloid song and the plot is based similarly to the series made by NipahDubs and others. Also warning: Involves a bit of dark stuff and a small bit of gore c:)

The second alice was a fragile man of the diamond,

A male singer, content in the opera house or even the street where he would sing. The soft, yet slightly high for a male's voice was like that of a siren that brought the innocent crashing to the rocks of insanity. The words he sang were dark and twisted to the point where he was kicked out of the opera and back to the streets where his songs now sounded like some twisted preaching. Nobody listened to him anymore as he was regarded as nothing more than an insane man living on the streets using the music to twist minds. His voice was beautiful yet going near it would cause paranoia and madness until death.

Creating the image of the sick and the disturbed.
Deadly, yet so beautiful a voice just like a rose.
One day he had driven a man to far down the path. He had listened for too long and the madness got to him with just a scrap of sanity left within the chasms of his mind. Lifting a gun his hand hesitated as it lifted and dropped onto the trigger lightly. The Alice of diamond shifted his gaze in time to see the bullet spiral directly into his jugular. As the small silver capsule made contact it created a burst of red that gave a tremor through his body as he fell to the floor. The other who had shot ran and hid the measly pistol under his jacket. In his hand the diamond dropped the gentle, red rose with a dark, mad smile embedded on his face.

Was shot by a madman who silenced him to death.
A single rose bloomed in his place with no music composed.
With twisted grin this dying man lay breathing his last breath.
A pout touched the lips of the dream and a sigh rang out from the empty room. "That toy was nice and he sang songs about me as I asked buuuuut…" The childish voice giggled and grabbed the blue male doll in his arms. "He didn't last long, did he?" A dark laugh arose from him as he tore the doll apart.

Maths Measurement and Redraw (Sketchup)

As lazy as it seems I measured the board game box for some rip off of Battleships.
It's length was 26.7mm, the width was 26.4 so the box is relatively evenly shaped. The area ended up as 704.88mm and the perimeter measurement was 106.2mm. I used a tape measurer and recorded the statistics in Pages.

Argumentation Writing

Statement: You should insult people's OTPs and ships.

{OTP stands for One True Pairing. Basically if they like a couple from a fandom they will ship them or kind of be encouraging/cheering on that couple. Their favourite couples are their ships but the one they hail most is the OTP like…I don't know…SolKat. People ship whoever they like and the pairing is usually named by a mashup of the two people/animal/alien's names.)

For
Insulting OTPs and ships is fun as the person reacts so negatively. The reaction is funny and  they are so peed off. By insulting them you can get a string of angry reactions so this is a great option for trolls. This is a simply amusing way for young trolls to learn how to do their jobs in annoying people in the world.

Against
Alright, I'm just going to stop you right there. This is a bit of simple internet etiquette. OTP wars are a hellhole filled with brutality and angst. You do NOT. Under ANY circumstance insult anyone's OTP no matter how weird or screwed up it may be. You offend their ship and they will go apeshift bananas on you and bring you down if it's the last thing you do. If you are going to dis somebodies ship you can either have fun dying slowly on a wheel of everlasting pain or say it as nicely, as kindly and as carefully as possibly. In that case people are likely to forgive you for doing so because it was nicely said. They may come back with a bunch of reasons why it's cool or whatever and you don't have to like it just politely decline.

Things That Annoy Me

(Lol, this is pretty much an excuse for me to rant.)

What annoys me? Politics. A group of lawyers that are more focused on arguing than helping. I really don't like the fact that they push into things they don't know about, I really don't like how they're trying to make a profit out of everything. It sucks, I mean why do we need to make a profit out of schools and it won't help the learning of children if they happen to be better at non-academic things. If we're all measured by tests how do we get to be sports players or actors? You can't measure that with a test. I vote for a One Love party.

I also dislike people that go to things like rugby games and just…sit there. Enjoy it! Stop being so boring, get off your phone and cheer for your bloody team. Socialise or something because events are for being exciting. Wouldn't it be boring if we all just sat there quietly, not cheering after a try and just thinking about other things?! BE A FUN PERSON OR FILL THE WORLD WITH BORE DAMMIT!

Not to mention those douche bags in their snapbacks and stupid jeans and shoes. The ones that think they're so cool because they have "SWAG." You know what? Let's talk about swag shall we? Swiggity swag what's in the bag? I really want to kill whoever decided swag was a cool word. Originally it was a word for a type of strut, seriously?!

Another thing I really, really, REALLY don't like is that there are people around the world that are just mean. It's terrible how harsh others can be and I hate it. There are people that need kindness and when they come into contact with these jerks it breaks them down inside. It doesn't help the world when everyone is depressed and moping. I hate that there are people that actually believe that bullying is a good thing.

Something that I don't like is all the conflict in the world. I kind of grew up with conflict and it is now just really irritating. People who argue over religion just need to accept that there are people who aren't into the same things. Wars I can understand what's going on but…just calm it down guys.

I hate it when you're just taken on long useless drives for no reason. When your caregivers just decide that today is the perfect day to waste petrol and drive around places you've already been to and are not going to go to. It's so odd and boring let's not forget how much you feel like they're going to pull a Hansel and Gretel on you or at least murder you thanks to the awkward silence the ensues.

Argument

Statement: YOLO is awesome.
(Personally I'm against so it's not as easy to write the for piece.)

For.
This word is very deep and filled with meaning as it has the words "You Only Live Once" therefore telling one to cease the day. In your opinion. YOLO is easier to say and sounds cool and saying CD would be taken the wrong way. If you believe in reincarnation then you technically do live once just changing physical form each time.

Against.
I highly disagree as this word has no meaning whatsoever. People now use it willy nilly and sometimes for no reason at all besides, there is already "Carpe Diem" which is basically the same but less ruined in my opinion. I also believe that using this in a way of telling somebody that you only live once is a bit off if you believe in reincarnation. YOLO is something teens use to announce how so-called-cool they are to the world that doesn't care. YOLO is utterly stupid and has no point at all! What the heck is a YOLO?! YOLO is a stupid, stupid, idiotic word that stupid teenagers use on the internet and has no true meaning and sounds deep but that's only an illusion so that others think that they are deep philosophical people that truly aren't.

Is Computer Gaming Good For People?

Statement: Computer gaming is good for people.

For
1. Computer gaming enhances skills like coordination and creativity with many of the complex tools and attack combos, etc.
2. Computer gaming is fun and gives enjoyment for if you happen to be bored at any point.
3. Some games are educational and help increase your intelligence.
4. Most games are very well made and stimulate your senses with either great graphics or sounds and the like.
5.

Against
1. Computer games are addicting and could ruin your health if by causing you to stay inside and stare at a screen all day causing eye problems.
2. Games that are violent could influence violence upon children that are very easily impacted on.
3. If you continue to binge on games you will become a humbug sort of thing.

The First Alice: ♤

(These stories, there are going to be four, are based off of the song Alice Human Sacrifice. It's a Vocaloid song and the plot is based similarly to the series made by NipahDubs and others. Also warning: Involves a bit of dark stuff and a small bit of gore c:)

There once lived a small dream who wanted people to visit him. Unfortunately he had no way of getting them to come. Until he thought of a way…he would lead them there himself.

The First Alice was a wrathful woman of the spade…

Screams and cries rang through the air. Battle cries were heard along with the slashing and dripping of blood. At the head of the battlefield stood a woman in armour with clothing the colour red where it could fit right in. The war, though morbid and merciless, was something that excited her as she eagerly fed her hungry sword to the masses of people that charged towards her. She stopped for a moment to rest as she looked up at the battlefield. "Our morale is dropping and we're losing soldiers by the second. As much as I dislike it I'll have to draw back." She murmured to herself as she was about to draw back but suddenly wasn't on the battlefield anymore.

There were no bodies, no rough rocks or dirt. There was almost literally nothing as it was a vast area of white plain. "Where am I?!" She hissed, "My warriors need me!" She shouted in frustration. A young boy appeared before her.
"Not anymore they don't. You're going to Wonderland."

That was how in a few moments the woman stood outside the walls of what she assumed was a castle. One she had never seen before. She glared suddenly becoming extremely suspicious and stomped through the walls and yelped in surprise. There was a young looking character wearing the colour of her enemy and the eyes of the woman dilated as her being was filled with fury. Lifting her broadsword above the youth's head she then brought it down creating the meshing sound she knew so well. That was when the pure pleasure of killing infested within her and she started a killing spree throughout the wonderland castle.

And righteously she held a sharpened blade within her hand.
Never hesitating to slay all within her way.
Creating paths of blood that followed her through Wonderland.

Eventually she had caused a mass riot and the villagers had managed to throw her out of town. Nevertheless the Alice of Spades kept her killings on as she left a trail of blood leading into the dark woods that swallowed her up into corruption and she was never seen again.

Deep into the darkened forest, Alice walked the line.
Captured and imprisoned as the embodiment of Sin.
If it were not for the murderous wake left behind.
No one would have suspected that she had ever been.

The dream sighed as he swung his small doll around, clicking his toungue. "That toy broke…how unfortunate and now I need a new one!" He impatiently discarded the doll dressed in armour and red and waited to call his next Alice.

Who am I?

My torso is not one of a normal creature, it is long and rectangular not to mention sweet.
I am watched by many who can stop me if they please but if not I will run almost forever.
If you look at me you can see that I am most definitely not from this world.
The music I sing is a repetitive tune and as I dance and run forever I try to think of what to do.

Languages

In class we have started to learn about languages and at the end of the day we take our computers to the class in which we learn a language. In my case I go to room forty-one to learn New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL).

So far we have learnt a few greetings, the alphabet, a few numbers and how to say our names. Or rather how to sign our names. I wasn't there in the second lesson as I was away at art extension so I don't know much more than that. I can sign "How are you" and other short phrases along with a few simple words.

Most of the time when you sign you don't need to add in the small conjunctions such as the and so on.

Another thing we learnt was about the dominant hand and how it effects the way you sign a little. The way it was explained was by using three groupings of sign language. The first was when you used only one hand so you use the hand you write with ie the dominant hand. The second was when it didn't matter as you use both hands to make the same motions and the third was when you used different motions with both hands. In this case the dominant hand is the one that does most of the work.

Where am I?

Where am I?

As the wind blows softly the scent of maple leaves and pancakes drift through the air. Cries of moose are heard mixing with the sound of coyotes wailing. Those who inhibit the area speak blends of english and french and love to play hockey and lacrosse. Everyone is supposedly friendly and stereotyped as those who are too kind.

(Personification) Speaking softly and quietly the place is unheard over his older brother's noise and brightness. The place is kind and loves pancakes and hockey. He is soft spoken and fun and loves his pets.

Holiday Shenanigans

Okay so literally there was nothing worth writing about because really all I did was dance to eighties and slightly older music provided by my Dad when I visited him. I also drew a few pictures but not such an interesting topic so let me tell you about the time I visited The Hamilton Zoo with my cousins.

I giggled a little at the joke my oldest brother made once we arrived at the zoo. He trudged over to my little brother and grinned. "Don't worry Logan, we're releasing you to your family today." Logan frowned deeply and stared at Ethan with an agape mouth as all of my cousins laughed a little in reaction.
"Oh yeah? Well we're taking you back to the gorilla place!" I could tell they were going to be on this for a while so I just slowed down a little and walked in behind next to Luke, the oldest of my cousins.

I saw three pygmies nomming on some food, two birds that looked like pricks and a tiger that was lying on it's back. With the tiger we joked about it being my dad as it looked as if it was saying, "Rub my belly." Which is a phrase he uses.

One of the cooler enclosures I think belonged to the chimps. It was large and had strange little trees. They also had this house-like thing where they could enter the small door flaps to a play/sleeping area. I had leaned against the railing and watched as the chimps with wispy dark hair either just sat there or slowly climbed around. It was pretty boring until one of them began licking what we assumed was feces and we all pulled faces. "Oh god. Dad what is that?" I asked as I looked to my side.
"Peanut butter…Or some kind of food stuff." He chuckled a little.
"And if it's not?"
"Then what the hell are you doing mate." His line made me grin and laugh softly into my arm before we changed enclosures.

After a while of looking at ducks, pigs, red pandas and the like we decided to have lunch. We each had made our own lunches and put them in plastic bags. Mine had a smiley face on it whereas the others had their names. Once I pulled out my sandwich my face fell as a depressing thing dawned on me…I DIDN'T GET A MUFFIN OR A BISCUIT. I pouted at the rest of the boys though I kept quiet about it.

There was a short period of slightly awkward silence before my other cousin, Shaun who was second oldest, decided to break it. "Who here likes maths?" I deadpanned as only two raised their arms. The two eldest Luke and my bro Ethan. It kind of made sense as Luke was an intellectual and Ethan was………well he was Ethan. He had also decided that it was the perfect time to wear a my bright beanie and ridiculous looking sunglasses. He was a bit of a dork nose.

Overview of Term 2

One of the main events happened to be cross country which was challenging and another was The Production which was awesome. Cross country, if you didn't know, is basically a school-wide running event where you run a track at least twice. A Most Triumphant Tale, was the production title and it was exciting to watch. There probably were more events but they're the ones that I can't remember so I apologise for my impudence.

Highlight? A highlight you say? Well…my favourite event was probably Ngamuwahine Camp. To be more specific it was the camping in the outdoors of the forest area even though it was cold, kind of wet and I got no sleep whatsoever I enjoyed sitting around the fire and telling stories. Scary stories in particular but I didn't get to tell mine and the ones that were shared weren't horrifying at all. See the good components of a scary story involves suspense, gore, a low voice, acting and if you're making it up make it believable I mean anything can be scary if you add the right things.

My Lowlight. What the heck is a lowlight? The opposite of a highlight I suppose but I haven't heard of the word really. Anyway, we're heading off topic. My lowlight doesn't really exist because I enjoyed the entire term but running would be one as I'm pretty unfit.

I have improved in maths by heaps! I have no idea how! I went from a level 4 something to a 5B. I'm so happy about it too. That also puts all of my subjects on the same level which is interesting.

Improving in my literacy is something I want to do. They're pretty good already at 5B but I want to get higher because staying the same forever just isn't going to work. I want to make sure that I can keep moving.

~A Most Triumphant Tale~

To put it lightly the two year sevens seated next to me were loud and annoying as well as the constant name shouting over the actors who were trying to speak but other than that I enjoyed the production. I sat in my row and placed my headband across my eyes so that only my ears would tell me if it was starting. Funnily enough only moments after my eyes had been concealed I heard music and quickly ripped them off of my face and shifted my gaze around to spot the source of the familiar song. In the brightness of the spotlight was a man who was slowly rising out of the bottom of the stage and playing an old looking piano and he spun around a little too. The roar of the audience only fired up more as he played the song skillfully and the children spotted keys moving on their own.

That seemed to be like a pre-performance and once it had finished most of us had calmed down as the lights dimmed and the red velvet curtains rose to reveal a scene with David Bowie singing one of his epic songs.

As the show progressed the story became more clear. Phil and Ed, two band members who had been ditched by their original group are trying to find people to join their band to make it whole again. They need to do it in time to defeat the rival band, One Dimension who are a group of popular lip syncing fakes. In the end they have to travel through time to moments of music history to get famous musicians to join the band and defeat them to protect the future from bubblegum pop fakers.

A major part of the production was music and the message that came from it was about how lip syncing wasn't real music and that real music is made by artists that compose their own songs and make their own music. This is a message I agree with entirely as most of the music coming out nowadays is terrible compared to the songs from the nineties and so on.

My favourite part of the production was how the phone box thingy appeared in the different timelines and freaked everyone out. I enjoyed watching the production because it was awesome but afterwards I was really tired and wanted nothing more but to sleep. I

Why You Should Play Soccer!

Dear Whoever it may concern,

Okay, so I don't exactly play this sport but I used to and I enjoy it so my job today is to persuade you to join it.

First of all there are two names for it. soccer and football, though it's only really soccer in America and Canada. That has to be one reason and it's English! But I should probably start with a real reason. Like all other sports of course it'll help you get fit if you play and it's arguably of the most popular sports in the world and over one billion people watch the Football World Cup every few years. Here's another fact about soccer for the basketball fans, the first basketball game was actually played using a football.

Football is a game involving your feet which makes it different from every other sport though you have to kick it correctly in order not to injure yourself. The game should be smooth and simple as long as you have trust in your team and continue to play to the rules. If you find it difficult to hit the ball with enough strength I'd imagine kicking something you hate and trying to hit it towards your goal.

If you don't like being on field you could stay in the goal as goalie or goal keeper. The goalie's job is to catch the ball and is the only player allowed to use his/her hands. The goalie usually ends up diving for the ball and would do anything to stop the ball from getting into the goal.

Book Review: Samurai Girl: Book of the Shadows

The lone survivor of a plane crash that fell from the sky as an infant, named by the media Heaven Toko was taken in by a rich family but is the wealth built on the deaths of others and was her father working with the yakuza?

Many questions run through heaven's head as she does her best to unveil the shadow covering her family's past. Including what the truth was behind her brother, Ohiko's, death. Fed lies her entire life and believing them Heaven is sick of it and now wants to find the truth and only the truth but what happens when her family rivals are in the area including her alleged husband "Teddy."

This book is for the mature as it includes blood, drama, knock outs and a few…sexual references but nothing gets too far out of hand so I suggest girls of around thirteen to twenty or older if you enjoy novels. This book is filled with action and a little bit of drama along with a small bit of asian culture and weaponry.

The author has done a great job giving you a basis of what the character's personality is like and making you want to read the book through to the end. My favourite part was one of the final scenes where Heaven ends up fighting a group of men at an arranged meet up and whether she wins or not depends…are you willing to read the book?

Want to hear a joke?

Q: Want to hear a dirty joke?
A: A white horse slipped in a mud puddle

Q: You're in the woods with three things in front of you: A bear, a jaguar and a lion. You have a gun but there's only one bullet left, what do you do?
A: Shoot the lion, drink the beer and drive home in the jaguar!

Knock knock!
Who's there?
Ipe!
Ipe who?

There was an English man a Chinese man and an Irish man who all went on a hot air balloon ride. As they hovered over England the englishman couldn't help but call out, "Oh my fine England!" With pride. As they hovered over Ireland the irishman also exclaimed, "Oh my fine Ireland!" The chinese man dropped a few plates overboard and shouted, "Oh my fine China!"

Three men went to go for a picnic up a hill. At the top the first man decided to throw an apple off the large hill and the second threw a banana. The third who wanted to be daring, threw down a grenade. On their way back down the hill they spotted a young girl crying and they asked her why she was crying and she answered with, "An apple knocked my father out!" The men decided to continue down the hill and they saw a little boy crying and they asked him why he was. His answer was, "A banana knocked out my mama!" Continuing on until they reached the bottom they spotted two children laughing and they asked them why they laughed to which they replied, "Dad farted and he blew up the house!"

Q: What do you call a man with no legs?
A: Neil.

Q: What do you call a man with a shovel?
A: Doug.

Q: What do you call a man without a shovel?
A: Douglas.

Q: What do you call a man with no arms or legs and is floating in the water?
A: Bob.

Knock knock!
Go away!

Book Review: Alice in Wonderland

Rabbits jumping through holes and a world where everybody is mad. This is known as Wonderland and this book is a very famous story made by Lewis Carroll that has many other adapted versions though the one I read was the original.

I enjoyed reading it a lot as it was interesting though there were words that are a little complicated I believe if you try to understand them or end up searching up words it'll become a fun reading experience as you meet lots of different funny characters that will make you laugh and question their beings entirely. One of them being the cheshire cat who can disappear at the flick of his tail and speaks in almost nothing but riddles. His job is to guide young Alice through Wonderland along with the others.

Alice Liddel is the girl who fell through the rabbit hole and does her best to comprehend her situation. Unfortunately that isn't how Wonderland works and she finds herself wondering whether it's a dream or not due to all the crazy happenings like when she ends up shrinking and growing at strange speeds all due to some funny little foods.

This is a topsy turvy world that I would recommend for anyone aged ten and up as it is a wonderful book with nothing bad in it apart from a queen who's favourite phrase is, "Off with their head!" I invite anyone to join Alice on her adventures through the magical world of Wonderland where anything is possible and where everybody's mad!

Book Review: Havoc

[WARNING: Spoilers for the previous book so beware!]

Kids going missing! Mysterious people appearing and darkness shrouding one thing. A comic book named Malice.

Havoc is the sequel to the story called Malice by Chris Wooding where you meet Seth Harper and his friends Kady and Justin that help him to take down the terrifying tyrant known as Tall Jake but at the end of it they send Seth out of the comic world that they have entered by a chant knowing the risks of him forgetting all about Malice because that's how this twisted world works and you grow to understand as you read.

A book later we have Seth wandering around England wondering where his best friend Kady is and where the heck he was for the past few days while Justin and Kady make their way around the dark world of Malice to find the underground organisation against Tall Jake and wait for Seth there.

I think that Havoc is a great follow up to Malice as it adds on information to what things are and how they work. I particularly like the character development watching them go from scared to brave and learning their way around the place. There are small slices of comics on the pages that are also relevant to the story with the comic inserts are when the characters are being watched by countless readers excluding yourself.

This book is one I would recommend for most likely boys around eleven years old to possibly even eighteen as it is fast paced and a little dark with creatures lurking in the shadows.
